Discovery Trust has launch a public consultation to reduce commissioned places at Millgate Special School as a result of the ‘loss of use’ of the Temporary Mobile Buildings (TMBs) on the school site.

Our Proposal

Our proposal in two phases of reduction;

(1)  To reduce the number of commissioned places at Millgate Special School from the current number of 120 to 116 total place for September 2025 intake.

(2)    Reduce from 116 place to a final capacity of 112 places that can be offered in for September 2026 intake.

 This proposal will not affect existing children who have a place at Millgate School

Our consultation will run for four weeks starting Friday 28th February until Friday 28th March 2025.

To start the process of this capacity reduction, there is a requirement placed on us to make a ‘Full Significant Change Business Case’ application to the Government and publicly consult on this proposal, which we invite you to comment on. Please see the link to the  consultation document
