Welcome to the Millgate School website
We are pleased to welcome you to our school website on behalf of the pupils, staff and governors.
Millgate School is a city maintained day and residential special school for boys aged between 11 and 16 who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties as well as additional complex needs. Pupils attend this school from all over Leicestershire. There are places for 70 pupils, up to 22 of whom will be residents throughout the week in term-time. The residential facility was graded as outstanding (Ofsted 2016).
The School is set in the heart of the city and surrounding by residential housing on all sides. There has been a school on this site since 1955. An extensive building programme began in Autumn 2012 and was completed for the beginning of the academic year 2014-2015. This includes new classrooms and specialist teaching rooms, a refurbished residential block, and a brand new additional sports facility.
