OUR CAREERS PROGRAMME - MILLGATE FUTURES

We want to prepare all children at Millgate School with high quality, impartial careers guidance to help all pupils to make informed choices about which courses suit their academic needs and aspirations.

At Millgate School we feel passionate about preparing our pupils for the next stages of their education, employment, self-employment or training. Our Curriculum is embedded with opportunities for all pupils to build key interpersonal skills, experiences and opportunities to harness interests and develop their understanding of the endless opportunities they have for their future.

Beyond Millgate School

At the end of year 11 we don’t just close the door on our pupils. We do all that we can to ensure the best possible outcome for each of our pupil. To the end we have implemented the following:

• Key workers are allotted to each pupil. The key worker will check in at regular intervals throughout the first two years post-Millgate.
• The key worker is able to offer post-16 support, for example they can support with concerns over what type of course to enrol for, dealing with changes, support needed to study, finance and travel.
