Friday 22nd May
Good morning young men of Millgate,
Today is the final day of remote learning ahead of summer half term (make it count 🙂). Enjoy your week off and stay safe.
Lockdown, despite the obvious restrictions and negatives such as McDonald's being shut, has offered many positives. Below are a few that may apply to you.
- I appreciate time outside to exercise more
- I miss things about education and being at school
- Greater appreciation of the NHS and other key workers.
- I say "thank you" more
- My independent study skills have improved.
- Developing stronger relationships at home
- Learning new skills such as cooking a meal, making cakes or decorating
Have you shared your kindness calendar with your tutor team? SFord@klms.leicester.sch.uk or NCadman-Bailey@klms.leicester.sch.uk?

In shipping the carry weight is known as "deadweight tonnage", or DWT to those in the industry.
DWT is the sum of the weights of cargo, fuel, fresh water, ballast water (for balance), provisions, passengers and crew. In Ieuan's creation, DWT is made up from a pirate raid of the kitchen cupboards.
Thanks to Suraj and the Maths faculty for a fun challenge.

Wednesday 13th May
Good morning young men of Millgate,
One of the “ambitions” the Prime Minister made on Sunday was that he hoped school children would get a month of schooling before the summer holiday, It is important to remember it is an ambition not a certainty. What is a certainty, is that you will only return to Millgate School when it is safe and appropriate to do so.
